It's back! With the goal of bringing a little cheer to patients in the hospital during the holiday season, the deviantART Holiday Card Project connects deviants from around the world and applies their tremendous artistic abilities in designing and creating uplifting holiday cards.
In past years, the Project has received more than 5,000 cards sent in by more than 1,000 deviants from 50 different countries/political regions. Cards were then divvied up and distributed in-person by deviantART members to local Los Angeles, CA hospitals, with additional cards given to various hospitals in the U.S. and abroad for hospital staff members to hand out

It looked like the branches reached heaven
The old apple tree it was called
Indeed it was
At least that's was my parents told me
They told me their parents had taken them to the old apple tree when they were children
"It's a tradition in this family that you take your child to the old apple tree"
As I got older I went there when I was sad
Seeing the other families having fun and smiling
would always cheer me up

Through the window he watched the clouds form awkward shapes
A bunny or two and even dragons
Then there were no shapes
There were no clouds
The sun blinded him but still he didn't feel the need to look away
It was as if it had hypnotized him
He looked closer and closer and what had only been unnecessary light to him became a passion and obsession
The white light consumed him and he felt as if he was looking at his soul
Every feeling that had ever passed his heart and every thought in his mind came at once and paralyzed his body
As the sorrow, pain and sadness overpowered him the tears were running down his face
But as the joy and ha
His body was still
but his mind was turning.
The blood was dripping from his hands
but his skin was as dry as the desert.
His face as pale as winter snow
but his eyes were as dark as the night.
He realized what he had done
as he looked down at the cold body in front of him.
The pool of blood slowly getting bigger reminded him of his youth
He had always blocked it out
but now the memories was overwhelming him.
He picked up the knife.
The one thing that had caused all this.
